Let’s Eat, Santa Maria-Style

Gabe, owner of Mijos Oak Barbecue, finds his inspiration in his Santa Maria roots. Cooking over the coals of Red Oak brings his food to life. Roasted tomatoes form the base of the salsa for linguiça tacos. Beans slowly cook in a dutch oven covered in the coals. And pound upon pound of tri-tip will slow roast until perfection.

Born on the ranches of Central California, this style of barbecue has become a mainstay over the past 150 years. Gabe’s memories of cooking over the fire with his family led him to building out the concept of Mijos Oak. Fresh and flavorful food, bringing people in the community together!
